GDPR and Analytics

How does the virtual expo platform handle analytics GDPR compliant?

In the current legal environment, any external tracking requires explicit user agreement. This is why visitors must confirm their privacy choices when they enter the virtual exhibition.

Most tracking services, e.g. Google Analytics, are offered by a 3rd party. That means dotEnterprise doesn’t have control over the data collected or how it is used. Because of that, analytics will only work with user permission.

Internal tracking

As using external tracking services is legally very limted, dotEnterprise also integrates a local tracking platform.

As it runs on our own servers, and only processes anonymized data, it can track user activity on the platform fully GDPR compliant.

For each exhibition, the organizer will receive access to the tracking server, and the ability to analyze the exhibition and exhibitor relevant statistical data and user flow.
